Project manager

Responsibilities
  • Advise the Project sponsor on issues affecting deliverables;
  • Engage Stakeholders and conduct meetings;
  • Formulate and manage weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual plans that define scheduled deliverables including project governance, content quality and timeliness; identify key milestones; review progress on a regular basis, and engage staff in ongoing risk management;
  • Deliver weekly briefings on progress, performance measurement, conflicts and finances;
  • Conduct post-activity reviews / lessons learned and follow-ups to major activities;
  • Develop and implement an organizational improvement plan, business plan, policies and standards;
  • Make recommendations and providing advice on business improvements/projects;
  • Assess the organization's capacity/capability to undertake and successfully deliver an initiative or a change;
  • Develop roadmaps that identify key components of the change strategy including training opportunities and feedback platforms;
  • Analyze, evaluate and control risks as they relate to business and project requirements;
  • Participate in meetings with internal and external partners/stakeholders;
  • Provide updates if deliverables will be delayed;
  • Advise on internal and external business decisions that may affect project(s), business requirements; and
  • Advise and implement measures to mitigate risk.
 
 
Qualifications
 
  • A Project Professional certification; OR
  • A university degree in a related Project Management discipline; OR
  • A two-year college diploma in a related Project Management discipline and a minimum of two (2) years of experience in a related Project Management discipline; OR
  • A university degree in any field and a minimum of five (5) years in a related Project Management discipline; OR
  • A minimum of fifteen (15) years of experience in a related Project Management discipline.
    • must clearly demonstrate that the proposed resource has a minimum of five (5) years of experience in the last ten (10) years in creating project management documentation. Demonstrated experience must include at least 2 of the following:
  • Project Charter
  • Project Management plan
  • Work breakdown structure
  • Project plan
  • Project Close Out
 
  • must clearly demonstrate that the proposed resource has a minimum of five (5) years of experience in the last ten (10) years in cost estimating, developing, and following a budget.
  • must clearly demonstrate that the proposed resource has a minimum of five (5) years of experience in the last ten (10) years in activity and resource planning.
  • must clearly demonstrate that the proposed resource has a minimum of five (5) years of experience in the last ten (10) years in developing and adhering to project schedules.
  • must clearly demonstrate that the proposed resource has a minimum of five (5) years of experience in the last ten (10) years in risk management.
